For most products, especially food, a thin inner lining (like PE or PLA) is necessary to create a food-safe barrier and preserve freshness. While this mixed-material structure can be challenging for standard recycling, we prioritize using FSC-certified paper and offer options like 100% recyclable mono-material pouches or bags with compostable PLA linings to help you make the most sustainable choice possible.
Printing on kraft paper offers a unique, earthy aesthetic. It’s important to know that colors will appear more muted and less vibrant on a natural brown kraft surface compared to white paper. For bright, vivid colors, we recommend either using a white kraft paper base or printing a layer of white ink underneath your color design. Our pre-press team is expert at advising on how to best adapt your artwork for a stunning result.
The right lining is crucial for shelf life. Here’s a simple guide: For dry goods with a short shelf life (like granola or cookies), a simple PE lining is often sufficient. For products sensitive to oxygen and moisture (like coffee, tea, or powders), a high-barrier lining like metallized PET (VMPET) or Aluminum Foil (AL) is recommended.
